Neal Adams
Green Lantern / Green Arrow v2 #83, 1970 - A child with psychic powers is manipulated by a devious adult for his own gain. Interestingly, he strongly resembles Spiro Agnew, the only US vice president to resign in disgrace. Neal Adams delivers several fine sequences, including an unlikely attack from a flock of birds on pages 2-4. This reference to the 1963 film is further reinforced by the appearance of director Alfred Hitchcock on page 4 panel 3. One of the final scenes depicts a group of mindless children, converging to finish off the helpless Green Lantern and Green Arrow. They stand eerily over the heroes, their fists clenched without the knives that were apparently too much for the censors. Adams' draftsmanship nonetheless remains sharp. This story was later reprinted in Green Lantern Green Arrow #4. This is 9 of 15 Green Lantern v2 issues with Adams. /// Adams gallery
