X-men #65 - Neal Adams art

X-men v1 #65 marvel comic book cover art by Neal Adams
X-men v1 #65, 1970 - After his apparent death in X-men #42, Professor X makes a dramatic return. In the meantime, an alien invasion is imminent, unifying the team as a whole. Neal Adams' last issue is his least impressive, but falls within expectations. His layouts and drawings are more conventional than usual, though they improve as the story progresses. Curiously, the creature on page 12 was redrawn by Marie Severin (per Stan Lee's instructions), resulting in a glaring inconsistency. This is number 9 of 9 X-men issues with Adams art and/or covers.
