Werewolf By Night v1 #7, 1973 - Still held prisoner in a traveling circus, the Werewolf becomes the sacrifice in an ancient pagan rite.
Mike Ploog opens with a daring layout, but the remaining pages seem to wane in enthusiasm. Additionally, Jim Mooney's inks are heavy-handed and dominant throughout (excepting the montage of the wizard Kaman-Ru on page 15). His more traditional style lacks much needed impact and savagery. By contrast, Ploog effectively captures these attributes on the cover. This is 7 of 12
