Ghosts #2 - Wally Wood art

Ghosts v1 #2, 1971 - Only the second issue of this long running horror title, Wally Wood inks a chilling story about a ghostly plane from World War II. Bob Brown does a decent job with the pencils, re-creating uniforms, buildings and aircraft from that era. As in most cases, Wood's inking asserts itself, dominating the look and feel of the pages. To their benefit, depth and interest are increased throughout. This story was later reprinted in Ghosts #40. Other artists in this issue include George Tuska, Ruben Moreira, Curt Swan, Ray Burnle, John Calnan and Nick Cardy (cover). This is number 1 of 1 Ghosts issues with Wood art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Wood or Ghosts issues. See also this blog's Wood checklist.
