Captain Marvel v2 #29 - Jim Starlin art & cover

Captain Marvel #29 marvel 1970s bronze age comic book cover art by Jim Starlin
Jim Starlin
Captain Marvel v2 #29, 1973 - The large, centralized Captain Marvel figure on the cover heralds a new change in the hero's powers. The body is dynamically drawn, but John Romita superimposes a new face over Jim Starlin's original strained expression (see the alternate cover). The artist may have missed the mark here, but his interior story art is outstanding. From the history of Titan's civilization to the hero's new transformation, Starlin combines vibrant drawings with carefully constructed layouts. This story was later reprinted in Life of Captain Marvel #3. This is number 5 of 12 Captain Marvel issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or Captain Marvel issues.
