The Spectre v1 #2, 1968 - After appearing in solo issues of Showcase, the Spectre begins his first series since the golden age. Neal Adams begins his brief run, bringing his contemporary approach to supernatural-themed stories. His bold opening splash transitions into a sequence of beautifully drawn pages. While his realistic style may sometimes contradict the mystical aspects of the story, Adams' superb draftsmanship more than makes up for it.
