The Spectre #2 - Neal Adams art & cover

Spectre v1 #2 dc 1960s silver age comic book cover art by Neal Adams
Neal Adams
The Spectre v1 #2, 1968 - After appearing in solo issues of Showcase, the Spectre begins his first series since the golden age. Neal Adams begins his brief run, bringing his contemporary approach to supernatural-themed stories. His bold opening splash transitions into a sequence of beautifully drawn pages. While his realistic style may sometimes contradict the mystical aspects of the story, Adams' superb draftsmanship more than makes up for it. This story was later reprinted in Adventure Comics #495. This is number 1 of 4 Spectre issues with Adams art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Adams or Spectre issues. See also this blog's Adams checklist, Top 10 Adams comics on an original page from this issue.
