Gumby's Summer Winter Fun Special v1 #1, 1988 - After a brief visit with the miners at the city's toy mine, a massive explosion occurs. Several puppet men are trapped, forcing Gumby and Pokey to use their amazing mechanical burrowing vehicle. This first issue, written by Steve Purcell, is a follow-up to the Summer Fun Special. Like before, Art Adams draws both the cover and interiors. His art is even more exceptional this time, enhanced by three impressive double-page spreads. Adams' skillful use of line and texture make this issue among his best works.
