Bizarre Adventures #27 - 1st Phoenix, Nightcrawler solos

Bizarre Adventures #27

Bizarre Adventures v1 #27, 1981 - Featuring the secret lives of the X-men, both Phoenix and Nightcrawler appear in their first solo stories. In the first story written by Chris Claremont and drawn by John Buscema and Klaus Janson, Sara Grey mourns the death of his sister Jean (X-men #137) and recalls a memory of an earlier adventure together. In a separate tale by writer Mary Jo Duffy and artists Dave Cockrum and Richard Villamonte, an odd occurrence with the villainous Vanisher results in his transport (along with Nightcrawler) to an all-female dimension where men are treated as kings. Other artists in this issue include George Perez and Alfredo Alcala. Painted cover by Paul Gulacy.
