Strawberry Shortcake v1 #1, 1985 - In this first issue, a pie-making contest is boldly announced. All the residents of Strawberryland want to participate, including Strawberry Shortcake, Huckleberry Pie, Blueberry Muffin and Raspberry Tart. Unfortunately, this is just an evil ruse by the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak. This character first appeared on American Greetings' greeting cards before expanding into dolls and other merchandise.
