Jackpot Comics v1 #5, 1942 - Hidden in this mostly superhero issue is an early Archie Andrews story. When Veronica Lodge finally agrees to go with him on a school picnic, he spends most of his time avoiding the principal Mr. Weatherbee (who makes his first appearance). Reggie Mantle is only shown in two small panels, driving his convertible with Veronica. His first full appearance occurs in the next issue. This story was written and drawn by Bob Montana.
