Pink Panther v1 #1, 1971 - Initially this character appeared in animated shorts shown just prior to the live-action films (starring Peter Sellers) of the same name. The Pink Panther soon gained popularity on his own, which resulted in this comic book series two years later. As the cover to this first issue shows, the Inspector (based on the movies' bumbling Inspector Clouseau) gets second billing. All stories were written by Carl Fallberg and drawn by Phil De Lara. Cover by De Lara.
