Shogun Warriors v1 #1, 1979 - With Marvel securing the rights to these Mattel toys, this first issue introduces the robots Raydeen. Combatra and Dangard Ace to the comic book audience. These giants are controlled from within by their respective drivers: a pilot, a marine biologist and a stunt car driver drafted by the Shogun Sanctuary. Running for a respectable twenty issues, this science fiction series is written by Doug Moench and drawn by Herb Trimpe and Dan Green. Cover by Trimpe and Al Milgrom.
