
Toka (Jungle King) v1 #1, 1964 - Asleep in an Incan temple for four hundred years, young Toka and his mentor Balsa Cusco finally awaken in the present. An impressive history of the region is recounted, including the arrival of Pizarro and his conquistadors. Toka soon learns he's the son of a great Incan king. When his mentor dies, the prince makes the modern day jungle his home. This first issue is drawn by Frank Springer. Cover painting by Jack Faragasso.
