From Hell #1 |
From Hell v1 #1, 1991 - Alan Moore brings his own unique perspective to the Jack the Ripper legend. Told in eleven volumes, this first issue lays the groundwork for the horrific events of 1888. The interiors are black and white, but Eddie Campbell's drawings are rich in texture and feeling. Nineteenth century London is drawn with a grittiness reflecting the Industrial Revolution. Note that the movie From Hell was far from faithful to this graphic novel. Painted cover by Campbell. /// key 1st issue
