Negro Romance v1 #1, 1950 - In a bold move for the time period, Fawcett publishing introduces a romance title for the African-American market. In this first issue, stories involve a niece suspicious of her aunt's new beau, the return of an old lover and two suitors competing for one woman. These same scenarios appear to be quite common in most romance comics. Interestingly, the opening tale appears to be drawn by George Evans of EC Comics fame (see interior page below).
