Wow Comics v1 #1, 1940 - A special prosecutor by day, Brian Butler somehow finds the time to be a costumed crimefighter. With only his athletic ability and two handguns, Mister Scarlet begins his war on crime. Jack Kirby's art is better than most during this era. His multiple viewpoints, page layouts and overall visual storytelling set this story apart. Other characters are introduced in their own features, such as Diamond Jack, Shipwreck Roberts, White Rajah and others. Most are forgettable, allowing Mister Scarlet to come to the fore.
