Hawkman v1 #1, 1964 - After several tryout issues in Brave and the Bold (#34, 35, 36), the winged warrior gets his own self-titled series. Two separate stories make up the bulk of this first issue. In the first, Hawkman and Hawkgirl compete to see if Thanagarian police methods are better than Earth. In the second, a man dressed in ancient Mayan garb finds strange new weapons in the jungles of Yucatan. Both Gardner Fox stories were drawn by Murphy Anderson. Cover by Anderson. /// key 1st issue
