Captain Marvel Adventures v1 #18, 1942 - Mary Bromfield's half of a strange locket reveals her as Billy Batson's long lost twin sister. When he and Freddy Freeman are captured by thugs, she utters the magic word for the first time and becomes Mary Marvel. Having almost identical powers as Captain Marvel, she rescues the boys and joins the cause of justice.
