Showcase v1 #62, 1966 - The threat of a mad scientist prompts a secret call to the Freedom Brigade, a band of patriotic superheroes. Unfortunately, they retired years ago and send their progeny in their place. Each of the Inferior Five lack either brains, strength or useful super powers. Led by Merryman, the Blimp, Awkwardman, Dumb Bunny and White Feather stumble through their first crimefighting adventure. A humorous parody of superhero teams overall, the Inferior 5 would subsequently get their own series. This story was written by E. Nelson Bridwell and drawn by Joe Orlando, Jerry Grandenetti and Mike Esposito. Cover by Orlando.
