Incredible Hulk v2 #340, 1988 - While not generally a big fan of his work, I admit that Todd McFarlane does an outstanding job on this cover. Wolverine growls at his opponent, whose image is reflected in his claws. The artist takes some liberty flattening the appendages, but aesthetically it works. John Byrne was the first to try out this idea (with much more subtlety) on Wolverine v2 #23. McFarlane also provided the story art inside. /// select McFarlane cover- - - - - - - - - -
