World's Finest Comics #281 |
World's Finest Comics v1 #281, 1982 - Aided by Kid Eternity, the Marvel Family takes on the gargantuan-sized Mister Mind. Don Newton ends his run on the series with a less than impressive effort. Many of the layouts are weak, particularly at the beginning. His just adequate pencils are further hampered by an uninspired inker. Maybe not coincidentally, this is Newton's last Shazam effort on the series. This story was later reprinted in Shazam! The World's Mightiest Mortal #3. Other artists in this copper age comic include Alex Saviuk and Irv Novick. Cover by Gil Kane. This is 28 of 28 World's Finest Comics issues by Newton.
