Sandman v2 special #1, 1991 - Neil Gaiman takes on the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, adding a few contemporary flourishes (such as the dialogue). Following the tale are a series of single age portraits, each by a different artist. Barry Smith is tasked with the Sandman himself. An ornate frame houses a mirror with no reflection. while leaves rain down on the title character. As usual, Smith's rendering evokes classicism and beauty. This issue also includes art by P.
