Flash Comics v1 #86, 1947 - A young woman convinces a lovestruck Johnny Thunder to enter an apartment and break into a safe. Unfortunately, the residents are gangsters who take issue with his task. Somehow Johnny survives even without the usual help from his personal genie Thunderbolt. Black Canary makes her first appearance as a thief who steals from other thieves. Although masked in the opening panel, she appears maskless throughout the whole story. Written by Robert Kanigher and drawn by Carmine Infantino and Frank Giacoia, this story was later reprinted in Adventure Comics #416. /// key 1st appearance Dinah Drake as Black Canary
