Star Wars v1 #38, 1980 - Jumping their ship into hyperspace, Luke and Leia relocate far into the void of space. There they encounter a sentient organic being of enormous size. Michael Golden illustrates his first and only issue on the series. Aided by inker Terry Austin, this stand-alone story is beautifully rendered. Page layouts are varied but logical, especially on the scenes of Luke and Leia's near-expulsion into space. Also notable is the sequencing of the story's ending panels. Golden's cover doesn't quite succeed like his interiors. /// select Golden art- - - - - - - - - -
