X-men v1 #94, 1975 - Following the debuts of several characters in Giant-size X-men #1, this issue features a new team and the start of their first series. Angel, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Polaris, Sunfire and Havok depart. Professor X and Cyclops remain to lead newcomers Storm, Colossus, Thunderbird, Nightcrawler (all making their second appearances) and veterans Banshee and Wolverine. In their first assignment, they must rescue an air force base overtaken by Count Nefaria and his Ani-Men. Dragonfly makes her debut as the newest villain to join their ranks. This issue marks the beginning of the bronze age X-men's first series. Written by Len Wein, this story was drawn by Dave Cockrum and Bob McLeod.
