Showcase v1 #37, 1962 - After spending eons in an arctic sheet, a giant flying sting ray is suddenly freed and attacks New York City. The military calls a brilliant scientist named Dr. Will Magnus, who proceeds to build a robotic team named after various metals: Gold, Iron, Lead, Platinum, Tin and Mercury. In their debut, the Metal Men tackle this gargantuan threat for the sake of the world. This Robert Kanigher story was drawn by Ross Andru and Mike Esposito. Cover by Andru and Esposito.
