Star Wars v1 #1, 1977 - In a galaxy far, far away, a young man stumbles upon a distress call from a princess. His next moves will take him far away from his home planet. A few months before the George Lucas movie came out, Marvel began the comic book adaptation starting with this first issue. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, R2D2 and C3PO all make their first appearances in this science fiction epic. Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi appear on the cover only. Curiously, Darth Vader is green on the cover. While the 35 cent variant is rarer, this 30 cent edition is a worthy addition to any collection. This Roy Thomas story was drawn by Howard Chaykin.
