More Fun Comics v1 #73, 1941 - Although not featured on the cover, two major DC characters make their first appearances in this issue.
Aquaman rescues the survivors of a Nazi submarine attack, then proceeds to tell them his origin story before. Using his telepathic rapport with sea creatures, he eventually hunts down the perpetrators. In a separate tale,
Green Arrow and
Speedy hunt down a masked man who kills the namesakes of famous historical figures. Interestingly, the writing gives no indication that this is their first caper. Both stories were written by Mort Wesinger. This golden age issue also features Spectre, Johnny Quick and Doctor Fate. Aquaman's origin was later reprinted in
Secret Origins v2 #7. ///
