Coo Coo Comics v1 #43, 1949 - Johnny Hare loses his watch on a bet with Spencer Snake, learning a lesson in humility. Frank Frazetta contributes larger illustrations than usual in this particular issue, including two for this story. In a separate tale of a bullied little dog, the artist's keen draftsmanship is on full display. Frazetta silhouettes the characters in both cases, making the scenes more open and spacious (see interior page below). Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Hubbard and Jack Bradbury.
