Justice League of America v1 #9, 1962 - Sharing the team's origin with Green Arrow and Snapper Carr, founding JLA members recall a time when seven alien beings that arrived on Earth. They battled amongst themselves for the right to rule their home planet Appellax, but endangered our world in the process. Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, Batman and Martian Manhunter intervene independently, but realize the advantages of working as a team. This origin story, written by Gardner Fox and drawn by Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs, was later reprinted in JLA #97 and DC Special Blue Ribbon Digest #5. Cover by Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.
