Wonder Woman #1 |
Wonder Woman v1 #1, 1942 - Following her debut in
All Star Comics #8 and her
first ongoing series, this
first issue marks the start of Wonder Woman's first self-titled series. The opening story expands upon her origin, from her creation on Paradise Island to her journey into the "world of men". This was later reprinted in
Secret Origins v2 #3 and
Secret Origins of the Super DC Heroes. The second tale introduces her comic relief sidekick
Etta Candy. All stories were written by William Marston and drawn by Harry Peter. While generally not a fan of his work, Peter takes the reins on this cover with gusto. ///
