Nova v1 #1, 1976 - Richard Ryder is a self-proclaimed loser in high school: bad at sports, bad at academics and very few friends. That all changes when he receives super powers from a high orbiting spaceship. Making his first appearance as Nova, he vows to avenge the death of billions on an alien planet. This enjoyable Marv Wolfman story was drawn by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott. Cover by Buscema and Joe Sinnott.
