Fantastic Four v1 #31, 1964 - The Mole Man returns once again, this time pulling an entire New York City block deep underground. As a consequence, the Invisible Girl is captured and held hostage. The rest of the FF must not oppose the Mole Man's grand plans to ensure her safety. The Avengers make a cameo and the father of Sue and Johnny Storm makes a rare appearance. Aside from the opening splash, Jack Kirby seems to standardize his layouts. His pencils just meet expectations. Despite his detailing, the cover is far too busy and reveals almost the entire story. This is 31 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby.
