Modern Love #5 - Wally Wood art

Modern Love #5
Modern Love v1 #5, 1950 - Hired to lead a new band of musicians, Melody immerses herself in her work. Her attempts to avoid falling in love eventually take their toll, making her more angry and critical. For an early work, Wally Wood shows an impressive level of skill. His opening splash of an elegant nightclub is superbly detailed. Some panels are definitely primitive, but overall there's more good aesthetically than bad. In subsequent years, Wood would do some his best work with this publisher, mostly in the war genre. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Feldstein and Graham Ingels. Cover by Feldstein. This is 1 of 2 Modern Love issues by Wood.
