Daredevil #1 |
Daredevil v1 #1, 1964 - An armored car veers out of control on a busy street in broad daylight. After saving a pedestrian, Matt Murdock is blinded by the radioactive contents of the crashed vehicle. Now sightless, the teenager finds himself with super-heightened senses as a result. When his father is murdered by gangsters, Matt dons a new identity to bring them to justice.
Daredevil's first appearance is written by Stan Lee and beautifully rendered by Bill Everett. His cover, based on a Jack Kirby layout, unabashedly uses Spider-man and the Fantastic for greater marketing appeal. Supporting characters
Foggy Nelson and
Karen Page also make their debut. This story was later reprinted in
Marvel Super-Heroes #1 ///
