Queen of the West Dale Evans v1 #9, 1956 - Accused of theft, a young indian girl turns to Dale to help prove her innocence. In a separate tale, a pair of bank robbers conspire to steal money slated for charity. In both stories, Russ Manning's artwork shows his continuous improvement on the series. Each have a few lesser drawn panels, but his attention to detail and composition helps compensate. Overall, "Black Star" has a stronger aesthetic (see interior page below).
