Amazing Spider-man #37 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #37, 1966 - Newly released from prison, a mechanical genius plots revenge against his one-time business partner. He creates a pair of robots designed to Norman Osborn's wealth and destroy his laboratories. Spider-man intervenes and encounters them both. Steve Ditko's split-screen cover contrasts the tentacled, organic-looking robot with the more conventional one. His story art has matured over the years. His handling of both action scenes and Peter Parker's social conflicts (with Gwen Stacy) are skillfully done.
