(Walt Disney's) Uncle Scrooge v1 #45, 1963 - Scrooge sails to a remote island to buy the proverbial geese that lays the golden eggs. But can he get there before his nemesis Magica De Spell does? Carl Barks' mediocre cover is largely offset by his story art. His work shines with the fine draftsmanship he's typically known for. A second Scrooge tale, "The Travel Tightwad", is shorter and a tad less memorable. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney Comics Digest #33. "Isle of Golden Geese" was reprinted in Walt Disney Comics Digest #9. Both stories were reprinted in Uncle Scrooge #139. Other artists in this issue include Tony Strobl.
