Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #145, 1952 - Admonishing his nephews for playing with a hypnotizing gun, Donald Duck falls under its spell even though it's fake. Carl Barks does a splendid job depicting his hero in various hypnotized states  (mostly other animals). This tale, which also includes Uncle Scrooge, focuses on character figures and expressions. Barks' effectiveness at storytelling is all the more admirable given the simplicity of the plot. This tale was later reprinted in >Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #357 and >#481. Other artists in this issue include Al Taliaferro, Frank McSavage and Gil Turner. Other features include Mickey Mouse, Grandma Duck and Li'l Bad Wolf.  This is \ 105 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
