Strange Worlds #5 - Wally Wood art & cover

Wally Wood
Strange Worlds v1 #5, 1951 - Creepy and somewhat campy, Wally Wood's embrace of the science fiction genre is painfully evident on this cover. Inside, the Kenton of the Star Patrol main feature shows the artist experimenting more with lighting, texture and detailing. Like his cover, Wood illustrates his futuristic women with an obvious sensuality (see interior page below). Other artists in this golden age science fiction comic include Gene Fawcette. This is 4 of 5 Strange Worlds issues by Wood.
