Alex Toth |
All-American Comics v1 #102, 1948 - After wounding the sheriff during a bank robbery, a gang of thieves double back to take him hostage. Naturally, the heroic Johnny Thunder comes to his rescue. Despite some effort, it's clear Alex Toth struggles with his renditions. Some of the proportions of man to horse strain believability. Toth's straightforward cover is a variation of his opening page inside. Other artists in this golden age issue include Irwin Hasen, Art Peddy and Bernard Sachs. Starting next issue, the series becomes All-American Western. This is 9 of 9 All-American Comics issues by Toth.
