World's Finest Comics #6 - Jack Kirby art

World's Finest Comics #6
World's Finest Comics v1 #6, 1942 - In a backup Sandman story, the  hero and his sidekick Sandy investigate a deadly haunted forest. Built by the Nightshade, it's designed to protect criminals from capture. In typical Simon and Kirby fashion, the layouts are quickly paced with figures constantly in motion. Jack Kirby's opening (see interior page below) sets the tone and introduces the characters with efficiency. This story was later reprinted in Wanted #9. Other artists in this issue include Jerry Robinson and John Sikela. This is 1 of 5 World's Finest issues by Kirby.
