Weird Fantasy v2 #10 |
Weird Fantasy v2 #10, 1951 - This issue boasts two Wally Wood tales, each with interesting premises and plot twists. In the first, two spacemen disappear without a trace after landing on one of Saturn's asteroids. The second story asks what would happen if mutants were born to witnesses of an atomic explosion. Despite the usual abundance of dialogue, Wood's layouts and drawings make best use of the remaining space. His opening scene of a nuclear blast on "The Mutants" is the most memorable and finely detailed panel of the entire book. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jack Kamen and Joe Orlando. Cover by Al Feldstein. This is 10 of 15
