Amazing Spider-man v1 #28, 1965 - Just as he graduates from high school, Peter Parker witnesses the birth of a new villain called the Molten Man. To simulate metallic effects, Steve Ditko employs more linework and therefore a tad more detail than usual. His opening splash of the villain's origin is one of his best yet. Perhaps most interesting is Ditko's cover of Spidey in total darkness, his figure only partially defined by his costume. This silver age comic marks the first appearance of the Molten Man. This is 28 of 38 Amazing Spider-Man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Molten Man- - - - - - - - - -
