Solar's origin continues as a back-up feature on the series. Barry Smith develops visual effects that enhance the storyline. The hero's manipulation of light is uniquely portrayed on page 5. Each story contains a different two-page illustration on the center spread, when combined with the others from subsequent issues, forms a giant panoramic panel.
