Eerie v3 #100 |
10. Eerie v3 #100, 1979 - At the far reaches of the galaxy, Darklon the Mystic fights his father to the death for the throne to Nebularia. Jim Starlin created the character earlier in the series and this story marks his last episode. Opening with a dual portrait, the artwork becomes more detailed with each subsequent page. Shading, textures and patterns combine to form exotic effects. The layouts are precise and impeccably designed. One of Starlin's best works, this tale is comparable to his efforts on Captain Marvel and Warlock. This story was later reprinted in Darklon the Mystic #1. This issue also includes artwork by Alfredo Alcala. This is 5 of 6 Eerie issues by Starlin. /// key Milestone issue / Top 10 Starlin comics
