Silver Surfer v3 #5, 1987 - Under attack by the Obliterator, the Surfer defends himself while striving to protect his companion Mantis. Marshall Rogers continues his run on this series, but lacks the skill and verve of previous works. His inclusion of typographic sound effects benefits the action scenes (pages 14-16). Other techniques, such as the twelve panel sequence on page 9, are just repetitive and lackluster.
