Happy Comics #36 - Frank Frazetta art

Happy Comics #36

Happy Comics v1 #36, 1950 - Full of despair, a bird named Norbert lacks the talent of his fellow nightingales. Drawn to fit in a quarter-page, Frank Frazetta's artwork nonetheless excels in both composition and detail. Note the formation of birds flying in the far distance, extending the depth of the picture plane (see interior page below). Other artists in this golden age comic include Lynn Karp. This is 16 of 17 Happy Comics issues by Frazetta.

That duck on the cover doesn't look very happy.

The prospect of violent death for cartoon characters makes kids happy. See: road runner vs. coyote

Except the coyote would always be the agent of his own undoing. Here we can't see the perpetrator- for all we know this could be an act of domestic terrorism.
