Justice League of America #70 - Neal Adams cover

Neal Adams
Justice League of America v1 #70, 1969 - Crossing over from his own series, the Creeper makes an early guest appearance in this issue. Neal Adams makes good use of a puppetry metaphor to suggest manipulation. It also allows him to insert an obligatory number of JLA members into the layout. Adams succeeds in creating an attractive and intriguing cover. Other artists in this issue include Dick Dillin and Joe Giella. This is 3 of 18 Justice League of America issues by Adams .

Some poor coloring effects on the Creeper: the muddy dark tones on his face obscure Adams fine inks and are a bit off for an underlit face. Also the reflected light along the top of the Creepers gloves is pink, an odd choice.
