Solar Man of the Atom v1 #1, 1991 - Valiant Comics procures the rights to Doctor Solar, introducing the silver age hero to new readers with this first issue. Barry Smith supplies the enigmatic cover, plus begins a new origin serialized over the first ten issues. Each story contains a different two-page illustration on the center spread, when combined with the others from subsequent issues, forms a giant panoramic panel. Needless to say, Smith's artwork is the highlight of the series. This issue also includes artwork by Don Perlin. - - - - - - - - - -
